The story is that the earth is being taken over by aliens and the alien leader tells the goverment that if they do not surrender the planet in 24 hours, innocent civilians will be taken hostage and turned into zombies to help take over the planet. Harry is called upon to help save the people held captive by the aliens and to destroy the alien menace.

Now, he has to escape from the dungeon and finally kill the evil guy's dragon. The whole journey being a violent killing spree. However, the evil wizard has apparantely put a curse on your head as sometimes, reality just seems to fade away...

Released for the PC three years after its NES appearance, Castlevania is the first of a long series of horror platformers. That is, the first to bear the name "Castlevania".
